Sun cuts power consumption of its Santa Clara datacenter by 77%

Sun Microsystems recently went through a major upgrade at three of its data centers.  What does this mean? Sun claims it's reducing emissions by 77% and will be saving over a million dollars annually on its electricity bill at the Santa Clara center alone.  Wow.

Do you think savings like this can be made at the home scale?

I work for Assembled Products Inc. We make the Mart Cart that you see at WalMart stores, who are very into the green thing right now. Anway, we now make a chair that is 100% green in how it's produced to it's power consumption. We no longer use the chroming process, we powder coat instead. Also, it's totally 100% PCV free! We're on the right track!
