    Water Softeners - please help!

    Hello all,

I have searched and searched for a consumer guide for water softeners, something that compares the amount of hydro, water and salt on the various units out there, and I have been quite unsuccessful. Does anyone know if there is such guide, or does anyone know anything about water softeners that would help me make a better informed (and more responsible) decision?

    Your help is appreciated!

I am really sorry but I really have no idea where you can find this. Have you maybe tried a search on reviews of water softeners. I would think somethink might come up that may be of help.

You're right, it is quite hard to find a guide for this.  I was't able to find a site that had the detail on the amount of salt and water used, but I did find http://www.allwaterpurification.com/ which seems to be a great resource for reviews and types of water softeners.

Hi, thanks for that website. It does look helpful. I also found out that there is a Canadian Certification (NFS, I think... I will check that and I can post it again later - not at home at the moment), but anyways, that certification is aparently a very important piece of the puzzle, when buying water softeners! The stuff you end up learning... Anyways, thanks and again if you hear anything, keep me posted!
