    Brad Pitt Steps Up!

Brad Pitt has unveiled his plan to help the reconstruction of the poorest neighborhoods in New Orleans.  O saw spm epf the designs today and have to say that he's on the right track.

A noticeable design feature has the homes on stilts, anticipating flooding.  All I can say is it's about time someone decided to allow for the natural consequences of living in low lying areas and flood plains, instead of rebuilding the same types of homes that got washed away in previous natural weather events.

    Bravo Brad!

I did see this headline in the news, did not read the story. I may want to check it out now. It is nice to see celebrities making an effort to help others.

Brad was interviewed by Ann Curry on the today show with shapes of homes and building materials in the background all draped in pink. I guess the color was chosen to make sure Google Earth could pick up the site from space.

It's good to see him working to help others.

I seen a clip of this when he was on Larry King talking about it. I think what he is doing is great. To bad the government cannot step up in this fashion.

I don't think our government wants to.  The area that Pitt was standing in is one that had the poorest population, and that population happened to be black at the same time.  Just as the government gutted the programs that would have repaired the levies, it has no interest in helping the people who suffered most.

I agree with you to some extent but I really don't think that it is so much a race issue as more of the government taking the easiest way out and turning a blind eye.

Im sorry, but i dont get why people think its our governments job to bail everyone out that has a problem.  Im all for hepling people but its not our gov job to be involved.

Throughout history gov only knows how to throw money at a problem, and wastefully.

Theres too many people that beleive the gov owes them something and needs to be involved in every detail of our lives.

Just look at FEMA, when will people get a light bulb and understand our gov does very few things right and in any way that is efficient. About the only thing gov is good for is protecting our rights!

One of the best perks of celebrity status is that they're in a postition to help other people. Too bad more of them don't step up...
